Ingredients

Scale
  • Cooking spray
  • 1 pound extra-lean ground beef
  • ½ cup Italian-seasoned bread crumbs
  • ⅓ cup finely chopped onion
  • ⅓ cup Worcestershire sauce
  • ¼ cup ketchup, divided
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 ½ tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly coat a loaf pan with cooking spray.
  2. In a bowl, combine the ground beef, bread crumbs, onion, Worcestershire sauce, 2 tablespoons of ketchup, egg whites, brown sugar, salt, and pepper. Mix until everything is well blended.
  3. Transfer the mixture to the prepared loaf pan, pressing it down evenly.
  4. Bake uncovered for about 45 minutes, or until the center is no longer pink. Spread the remaining ketchup on top and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the ketchup is bubbly and thickened. Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches at least 160°F (70°C).
