1/4 tsp coarse ground black pepper, divided

1 tbsp canola oil

1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

2 tbsp butter

1 green bell pepper, sliced

1 yellow onion, sliced

4 oz mushrooms, sliced

1 loaf French bread, halved lengthwise

1/3 cup mayonnaise

8 oz provolone cheese, sliced

Instructions:

Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Step 2: Season the steak with half of the salt and pepper, then coat it with canola oil.

Step 3: Heat a cast iron skillet over high heat and sear the steak for 2 minutes without stirring or flipping.

Step 4: Add Worcestershire sauce and stir to coat the steak. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

Step 5: In the same skillet, melt the butter and add the bell peppers, onions, and mushrooms, along with the remaining salt and pepper. Cook for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender and slightly caramelized.

Step 8: Place the bread on the middle rack of the oven and bake for 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the bread is crispy.

Step 9: Let cool slightly before slicing. Enjoy your Philly Cheesesteak Cheesy Bread!
