Indulge in the flavors of the islands with our Hawaiian Style Teriyaki Chicken. This dish brings together the sweet notes of pineapple and the savory richness of teriyaki sauce, creating a deliciously satisfying meal.
Ingredients:
- 3 pounds of boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- 3-5 cloves garlic, crushed
- 2-3 thin slices of ginger root
Instructions:
Step 1: This recipe provides a basic marinade ratio, which can be scaled up depending on how much chicken you’re preparing.
The marinade should be ample enough to allow easy stirring of the meat. If it becomes difficult to stir, simply add more sauce.
Step 2: Start by combining the water and soy sauce, then stir in the sugar until it’s fully dissolved. Add your preferred amounts of crushed garlic and sliced ginger.
Place the chicken thighs into the marinade. You can let the meat soak in the mixture for up to 3 days, but a minimum of 24 hours is recommended.
If you’re short on time, you can also cook the chicken in the sauce immediately after preparation.
Step 3: Once the chicken has marinated, it’s time to grill.
Cook the chicken as you would any other grilled meat. If you’re grilling a large quantity, use high heat initially, then transfer the cooked pieces into a pot on the grill.
Add a bit of fresh teriyaki sauce to the pot, which will steam the chicken, ensuring it remains tender and juicy.
