Ingredients:
2 tablespoons oil
1 pound ground turkey or lean ground beef
1 small onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, sliced
1/2 to 1 cup chopped celery
1 (16-ounce) can diced tomatoes
1 teaspoon seasoned salt
1 (16-ounce) can tomato sauce
2 teaspoons dried oregano
2 1/2 cups water
1 teaspoon minced garlic
1 (4-ounce) can mushrooms
1 tablespoon sugar
12 ounces uncooked egg noodles
8 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
Instructions:
Step 1: Heat oil in a large skillet. Sauté the ground turkey (or beef), onion, green pepper, and celery until the meat is browned and the vegetables are tender but still crisp.
Step 2: Stir in the seasoned salt, oregano, garlic, and sugar. Add the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, mushrooms, and water. Let it simmer for 15 minutes.
Step 3: In a greased 13x9x2-inch baking dish, spread the uncooked egg noodles evenly. Pour the simmered mixture over the noodles.
Step 4: Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese on top.
Step 5: Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 45 minutes.
Step 6: Let it cool for 15 minutes before serving. Enjoy!
