Our Cowboy Pasta dish adds a western flair to your dinner. Featuring lean ground beef, salsa, veggies, and whole wheat pasta, this hearty fusion meal is sure to please!
Ingredients
454 g lean ground beef
1 can of CAMPBELL’S® Condensed Low Fat Cream of Broccoli Soup
185 mL of Pace® Chunky Mild Salsa
500 mL water
625 mL frozen vegetables
500 mL whole wheat pasta
10 mL chopped fresh thyme leaves
Instructions
Step 1: Start by browning the ground beef thoroughly in a large non-stick skillet over medium-high heat.
Step 2: Once browned, add all the remaining ingredients to the skillet and stir well.
Step 3: Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let it simmer until the pasta is fully cooked, which should take about 20 minutes. Stir occasionally, ensuring the pasta stays submerged in the liquid.
Recipe Tips
For a fun twist, try using wagon wheel pasta to keep with the western theme. If you prefer a bit more heat, substitute Pace® Chunky Mild Salsa with the Medium version.
This recipe is also perfect for using up fresh, seasonal vegetables from your garden or market. Simply replace the frozen vegetables with 2½ cups (600 mL) of chopped fresh veggies.
Add any quick-cooking vegetables closer to the end of the simmering process for the best results.
