Ingredients:
8 oz egg noodles
1 lb lean ground beef
1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
1 package (8 oz) cream cheese
1/4 cup sour cream
1 cup small curd cottage cheese
1/2 cup chopped green onions
2 tablespoons chopped green peppers
2 tablespoons melted butter
Directions:
Step 1: Cook the egg noodles, then drain and set aside.
Step 2: Brown the ground beef and drain any excess fat.
Step 3: Stir in the tomato sauce with the beef and remove from heat.
Step 4: In a separate bowl, combine the cream cheese, cottage cheese, sour cream, chopped onions, and green peppers.
Step 5: Grease a casserole dish with butter and layer half of the noodles at the bottom.
Step 6: Spread half of the cheese mixture over the noodles, followed by half of the meat mixture. Repeat the layers with the remaining noodles, cheese mixture, and meat mixture.
Step 7: Drizzle 2 tablespoons of melted butter over the top and press down slightly.
Step 8: Bake at 375°F for 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes. If you prefer a drier casserole, bake for an additional 15 minutes.
